Known locally as the Variety Club, Variety – The Children’s Charity of Buffalo & WNY has been serving the needs of WNY’s sick, disabled, and disadvantaged children for over 80 years. As the area’s leading children’s charity, we’re honored to be part of the fabric of this community and to have the public’s trust. That’s why all of our donations stay local and go directly to the equipment and programs that our region’s special kids need most.
We have touched the lives of millions of children, their families, and the community over the years, and we’re only able to do our work because of the support of the public. In fact, thanks to the tremendous generosity of Western New Yorkers, Variety Buffalo ranks #2 overall among U.S. Variety tents in dollars raised per capita! Let’s show the country what we’re made of here in WNY and get up to #1 in 2017!
Our mission is to transform, uplift, and enrich the lives of sick, disabled, and disadvantaged children in Western New York.
Our vision is to be the most trusted and effective children’s charity in Western New York.
Our promise is to be a faithful steward of public funds and a compassionate advocate for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in our region.
The beneficiaries of Variety support include Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, the Robert Warner Rehab Center, and dozens of other local children’s charities.
Our annual Variety Kids Telethon, the longest-running, locally-produced telethon in the nation, is our flagship event and a real WNY treasure. Each year, the community comes together to rally support for our region’s special kids. Thanks to our supporters and partners, the Telethon raised $1 million in 2016 for the cause. Telethon 2017 will be broadcast live on WKBW-TV from our new location at the Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center in Niagara Falls, NY from 7 am to 7 pm on April 2, 2017.
