Thank You Western New York!

By March 23, 2018 No Comments

Wow, what a Telethon! We would like to thank everyone who tuned in, donated, volunteered and was a part of this special day. YOU are the reason Variety is the Heart of Western New York!

Over $1 Million was raised to help kids like Jackson Buyea, our Celebrity Child, and Baylee Laughlin, our Niagara County Satellite Child. For Dr. Martin Hoffman, the doctors and staff at the state-of-the-art Variety Robert Warner Rehabilitation Center and Oishei Children’s Hospital, these funds are so important to help all WNY kids have opportunities every single child should be able to experience.

Thanks to all who bought a Kids Day Paper, a Delta Sonic Coupon Book, helped fill a Volunteer Firefighter’s Boot; every dollar counts towards our goal. To all our Corporate Sponsors, to all our Union Brothers and Sisters, to Satellites from Niagara to Salamanca to Wellsville and our Greek Community; You make Variety the Heart of Western New York!

We really appreciate all of the hard work you put into this event.

To the Scintas, Terry Buckwald, Nerds Gone Wild and the uplifting voices of True Bethel and Mount Olive Choirs, you kept everyone happy with your songs and even got our kids to come up and dance on stage!

The 56th Annual Variety Kids Telethon was dedicated to Irv Weinstein. Irv was a tremendous supporter of Variety Club and a friend to many in our organization. His countless appearances on the Telethon on WKBW over the years helped raise vital support. He was a legend and for his contributions to Variety and to all of Western New York, we shall be forever grateful.
