Formed in 1977 as a Buffalo-based not-for-profit educational corporation, SABAH is dedicated to the mission of enriching the quality of life for individuals challenged by physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disability by providing education and therapeutic recreation, promoting fitness, and developing social and communication skills.

Each week, SABAH athletes engage in physical education and therapeutic recreation to achieve their full potentials. SABAH programs enable our athletes to improve skills for independent living and foster a healthy lifestyle. True athletes, SABAH participants strive to be the best they can be in all aspects of life!

Variety Club of Buffalo is a Bronze sponsor.

Variety has provided funding to the School Day programs for nearly 25 years, allowing SABAH to improve outcomes for more than 450 children challenged by disability and economic disadvantage each year.

The Adaptive Ice Skating Program was evaluated for the first time in 2017, and the results demonstrate that students’ overall physical, emotional, social and self-control indicators increased by 55% in the 2016-2017 season.

The School Day Adaptive Ice Skating (SDAIS) program serves students who are both economically challenged and challenged by physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities or a combination of disabilities.

Funds will be used for two classes of students, including ice time, adaptive equipment, instructor fees, and Celebration on Ice show costs.
