In keeping with our new tradition of sharing good news, we wanted to share a super “sweet” story.
You know that old saying “when life hands you lemons, make lemonade” well, this story certainly holds true to that statement.
Finnegan, a little boy from North Tonawanda- loves having his annual “Lemonade & Sweet Treats” stand that him and his Dad made a few years ago. It’s become a summer tradition.
This year was a little different due to Coronavirus but it was even more important to carry on the tradition with a “sweet twist”!
Finnegan’s family reached out to Variety, the children’s charity of Buffalo and WNY to see if they could combine forces and help raise money for The Variety Kids. Variety provided Finnegan with consignment items to sell including candy bars, soccer nets, etc. to help encourage sales!
With everything going on in the world, now is the perfect time to give back, and that is just what Finnegan did.
He made videos, and his mom posted all over social media and they made signs to post around the neighborhood. He worked really hard and followed social distancing measures!
Finnegan managed to raise $310.00 through his lemonade sales, consignment items and donations!
It was a nice way to pay it forward and help support the Variety Kids! Even the smallest gestures can go a long way! And, who doesn’t love lemonade!
We look forward to seeing Finnegan at the 2021 Variety Kids Telethon to present his profits raised!
